Reeder Lu, LLP

Beverly Lu specializes in complex commercial litigation. She has extensive experience in handling business disputes, real estate litigation, employment litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith, and health care litigation.

Beverly represents clients ranging from developers, owners and financial institutions, to individuals, companies and major corporations. She has represented clients through all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling through trials and appeals, as well as mediation, arbitration, and in bankruptcy proceedings.

Beverly has successfully tried to verdict and arbitrated commercial cases involving a partnership dispute over a dental practice, an alleged joint venture and contract dispute for a national bank, bad faith claims against an insurance company, and landlord-tenant disputes.

Beverly's real estate experience encompasses various types of real estate agreements and relationships, including partnerships, joint ventures, and other entities. Her particular areas of expertise include disputes over acquisitions, financing and underfunding, development, property management, tenant improvement issues, unlawful detainer, brokerage agreements, and many other areas. The properties involved in the cases Beverly handles extend throughout California as well as Arizona, Nevada, and Michigan. She also counsels landlords and developers on risk management and pre-lawsuit claims.

Prior to forming Reeder Lu, LLP, Beverly was a partner and a special counsel in the Los Angels offices of two prominent international law firms.

Successful jury verdict, including an award for punitive damages, in favor of a dental practice management company in a partnership dispute against a minority partner

Successful defense verdict obtained on behalf of a national bank in AAA arbitration in alleged joint venture and breach of contract dispute

Summary judgment obtained on federal securities and fraud claims made against real estate developer on major real estate development project in Glendale, Arizona

Represented real estate developers against one of Mexico's largest real estate developers relating to the Key Largo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada involving unlawful circumvention and breach of joint venture agreement

Obtained successful jury verdict in Federal Court defending an insurance company in litigation involving bad faith claims on an accidental death insurance policy

Represented one of Los Angeles' largest commercial real estate developers in numerous unlawful detainer actions and landlord-tenant disputes
